State leaders pay tribute to Monument of Chingis Khaan
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the 24th anniversary of the adoption of the first democratic Constitution of Mongolia, the heads of the three branches of the power paid tribute to the Monument of Chingis Khaan Wednesday.
Together with Z.Enkhbold, the Speaker of parliament, and R.Gonchigdorj, one of the Vice Speakers were MPs, members of the former People’s Great Khural, society representatives.
The democratic Constitution was adopted on January 13 of 1992 and was put into force on February 12. It was amended in 1999 and 2001. The new Constitution has established a representative democracy in Mongolia, guaranteeing freedom of religion, rights, travel, expression, unalienable rights, government setup, election cycle, and other matters.
