Mongolian team captures 26 medals in World Memory Championship

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A mental sports team of Mongolia collected 26 medals in the 24th World Memory Championship (WMCh) took place on December 16-18 in Chengdu, China.

The World Championship was attended by 278 mental athletes from 25 countries who competed in 10 types of contests in the age categories of adult, junior and kids. Mongolia was represented at the competition by 20 athletes from the Intellectual Academy of Mongolia with their coaches and judges. Took part in all age divisions, the Mongolian team grabbed 26 medals, and set five world records in the categories of speed numbers, binary numbers, one hour card and random words.

In the junior division, Mongolian athletes captured 22 medals out of the 30 medals, leading this division in the world. Moreover, Grand Masters E.Purevjav and E.Enkhmonkh satisfied conditions of receiving the International Grand Master. Others B.Shijir-Erdene has become Grand Masters, T.Enkhjin, N.Tuvshintogs, B.Ariunsanaa, B.Khangai, E.Yalguun and A.Nomin--the International Masters.

After results of the 2015 World Championship, the Mongolian team has won 484 medals in the World Championships and international tournaments.
