Mongolian academicians discuss terrorism preventing ways
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Scholars from Mongolia’s agencies with roles in preventing and fighting terrorism assembled in Consensus Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on November 17 to run a discussion themed “International Terrorism and National Security”.
The event took place in the times of occurrences of terrorist attacks in the countries in order to consult the methods of terrorism prevention and our country’s situation. The main focus was on preventing international terrorism, terrorists’ access into our territory, and their recruiting of Mongolian citizens into their activities.
Major-General Prof Ya.Choijamts, a Dean of the University of Defense of Mongolia, gave the opening remarks. Keynote speeches included “International Terrorism and National Security” by Dr Sh.Palamdorj, “Anti-Terrorism Mentality”, “Islamic State’s impact on international security, perspectives”, “Utilizing intelligence methods in fighting terrorist activities”, “Terrorism, Protection of the State Special Objects” and “Theoretical issues of identifying crimes of terror” by other academicians.
The speeches suggested issues such as importing special weapons and instruments for fighting with terrorism, revising the Law on Fighting Terrorism, improving by all means the country’s border protection, preparing the people’s mentality, capacity building of the force agencies, learning practices of intelligence approach in identifying potential threat.
