President Gauk visits GMIT

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the sidelines of his state visit here, the President of Germany Joachim Gauk got au fait with the activities of the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT), located near Nalaikh city, on October 15.

The Federal President underlined that this institute is the fundament for the further development of the two countries’ cooperation not only in education and sciences, but also in precious metals sphere. After this he  planted a tree in the school yard.

The GMIT was established in 2013 in accordance with the Intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in mineral resources, industry and technology. The institute now has 75 students, studying in three bachelor degree programs and an engineering preparatory course.
