Ulaanbaatar, December 25, 2025 /MONTSAME/. At its meeting on December 24, 2025, the Government reviewed the draft Winter Tourism Development Plan and the Integrated Calendar of Tourism Events to Be Organized in Mongolia in 2026, and instructed relevant agencies to ensure their effective implementation.

The integrated calendar of cultural, tourism, sports, conference, exhibition, and other major events scheduled to take place nationwide in 2026 has been consolidated based on proposals from the Capital city, 21 aimags, government agencies, and professional associations. The Government emphasized the need to support these events under a unified policy framework, to standardize venues and schedules, ensure regular frequency, and improve the quality and organization of their implementation.

The meeting also discussed measures to develop winter tourism and reduce seasonality in the tourism sector. In this regard, the Government directed that a nationwide “Discount Month” campaign be organized in cooperation with trade and service providers to offer promotional pricing during the winter season. Additional measures include promptly opening and developing cross-border and border-area tourism, establishing direct flights from cities in neighboring countries to provincial destinations, supporting requests from foreign airlines to operate charter flights, increasing specialized winter tourism events through policy measures, and resolving key challenges facing the tourism sector through intersectoral coordination.
