Ulaanbaatar, October 23, 2024 /MONTSAME/. On October 23, 2024, Minister of Family, Labor, and Social Protection of Mongolia Enkh-Amgalan Luvsantseren met with the United Nations Development Program Resident Representative in Mongolia Matilda Dimovska. At the meeting, the two sides agreed on implementing a Project on Enhancing the Employment of Trainees.

At the meeting, Minister Enkh-Amgalan and UNDP Resident Representative Matilda Dimovska exchanged views on jointly implementing the Project on Enhancing Employment of Trainees in compliance with the Mongolian Government’s Action Program for 2024-2028. They noted that it is often mentioned that Mongolia faces an employment paradox with labor shortage on one hand and unemployment on the other. The two sides discussed the results reached under the implementation of Mongolia-UNDP projects and programs on supporting employment, cooperatives, vocational education, and employers.

As part of the Project, an estimated 7500 individuals, including vocational training graduates, part-time workers, and employees in informal employment, are expected to acquire formal employment. In the future, Mongolia-UNDP projects will be directed to targeted groups, focusing on improving the synergy between professional associations, part-time job markets, and vocational training institutions to achieve impactful results, reported the Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Protection of Mongolia.
