Ice Climber Munkhbaatar Becomes World Champion

Ulaanbaatar, January 22, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The UIAA Ice Climbing World Youth Championships 2024 were successfully held in Champagny-en-Vanoise, France, on January 18-20, 2024. Seven Mongolian ice climbers participated in the Championships, and Munkhbaatar Batzorig emerged as the World Champion, securing the top position on the podium in the Speed Juniors category (Male - U20). 


Munkhbaatar improved upon his previous accomplishment, where he clinched a silver medal in the UIAA Ice Climbing World Youth Championships 2023 held in Oulu, Finland, by winning the gold medal at the Championships in 2024. 


Also, Anar Tsetsegmaa captured the bronze medal in the Speed Juniors category (Female – U20), while Zorigtbaatar Azjargal grabbed the bronze in the Speed Youth A category (Male - U18) at the World Youth Championships 2024. 


Additionally, several Mongolian ice climbers achieved notable success by claiming gold medals at the 2024 UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup held in Cheongsong, South Korea, on January 12–14, 2024.
