Celebration of Mongolian Photography: Ulaanbaatar Photo Week 2023

Ulaanbaatar, October 12, 2023 /MONTSAME/. “Ulaanbaatar - Photo Week 2023,” a joint photo exhibition, is taking place at Misheel Expo in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, bringing together over 190 photographers from 20 organizations.
To commemorate the 88th anniversary of the founding of the Mongolian photography industry, the United Association of Mongolian Photographers is organizing "Ulaanbaatar Photo Week 2023" for the first time, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Mongolia.
To demonstrate the evolution of Mongolian society, the development of the Mongolian photography industry, and the artistry of photography, the Exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the country's culture, history, and natural beauty through the lens of photography, as well as a various range of photographic genres, including documentary, artistic, and media.
Organizers of the Exhibition emphasized that Ulaanbaatar Photo Week 2023 would contribute to the implementation of the Mongolian Government's “New Revival Policy” and the "Cultural Revival" National Campaign initiated by the Ministry of Culture of Mongolia. The Exhibition is remarkable as it is the first large-scale convening of Mongolian photographers to provide the public with an informative, insightful, and visually stunning journey through the world of Mongolian photography.
In her opening remarks, the Head of the Department of Arts of the Ministry of Culture B. Sergelen: Photography is a powerful form of art, capable of conveying complex human emotions and experiences in a single moment. The Ulaanbaatar Photo Week 2023 exhibition is a rich and diverse demonstration of Mongolian photography, featuring photos of over 200 artists, photography enthusiasts, and emerging talents. Also, it is commendable that the Exhibition includes training programs for young photographers. I am confident that the one-week Ulaanbaatar Photo Week 2023 exhibition will be a must-see event for not only citizens of Ulaanbaatar city but also locals and visitors alike.
At the Exhibition, MONTSAME Mongolian National News Agency is displaying 50 iconic photos that capture Mongolia's important historic moments, including the Mongolia-Soviet space flight, the 1990 democratic revolution, the first democratic election, Mongolia's joining the UN, and the Opening Ceremony of the Erdenet Mining Corporation.
The Exhibition is open to the public until October 16, 2023.
