Winners of 2022 National Amateur Chess Championship selected

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A final round of the 2022 National Amateur Chess Championship, traditionally organized on the Day of Constitution of Mongolia under the auspice of the Parliament Speaker, took place last weekend at the State House.


In the final round, 138 chess players in total; 80 men and 32 women competed to be national champions. In the Men’s category, E. Tuvshintugs from Gobisumber aimag won the first place with 7.0 points while G.Sanchirdulam from Khan-Uul district of Ulaanbaatar with 6.5 points led the Women’s category.


The first round of the championship was held last November nationwide, with participation of 5272 players, followed by a semi-final where 645 players challenged for the provincial championship.
