Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On July 2, the meeting of the Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment was held virtually within the Annual Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

Representing the Mongolian Parliament, Ms. Odontuya Saldan, Vice-Chairwoman of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia and member of the Mongolian Delegation to the OSCE PA attended the meeting.

Within the general theme “Reinforcing Multilateralism in Times of Global Crisis: A Parliamentary Call for Future Action”, the Committee’s report was presented by the Rapporteur Mr. Laurynas Kasciunas. The report touches upon such several critical topics as the current crisis of multilateralism, an overview of developments concerning prolonged conflicts in the OSCE area, as well as efforts to obtain a settlement, and a short analysis of the requirement of further regulation in the cybersecurity sphere and COVID-19’s effect on transnational threats. The parliamentarians of the member states exchanged their views and held active discussions on these topical issues.
