Mongolia grabs one gold and two silver medals at Asian Wrestling Championships

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. IM M.Dulguun has won the gold medal in the women’s 55 kg weight class at the 2021 Asian Wrestling Championships that is taking place in Almaty, Kazakhstan. 


In the women’s 59 kg weight, B.Shoovdor has grabbed the silver medal. In her first three matches, she faced off against wrestlers of India, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, coming out victorious with scores of 5:4, 13:0, and 10:0 respectively. In her next match, she had a match against Sarita Mor of India but was defeated by 7:10.


In the 68 kg weight class, IM E.Delgermaa improved her previous achievement by grabbing the silver medal at the championship. She had great success in her first three matches against athletes of India, South Korea, and Uzbekistan without losing any points.

However, in the gold medal match, she was defeated by Meerim Zhumanazarova of Kyrgyzstan by 1:6. 


With this, of the five Mongolian athletes that stepped onto the mat on the first day of the championship tournament, the national team of athletes grabbed one gold and two silver medals.
