All students involved in ‘1000 engineers’ program being employed

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In the framework of the Higher
Engineering Education Development Project, known as ‘1000 Engineers’, students who
qualified to study in Japan were presented certificates.
This year, 112 students will be studying in the country,
with 73 students accepted for bachelor’s degree programs, 1 student in master’s
degree program, and 10 students in doctoral degree programs.
The Higher Engineering Education Development Project is
implemented by the Minister of Education and Science with financing from Japan
International Cooperation Agency (JICA). In the framework of the project, 1,000
engineers are to be trained in Japan over the course of 10 years from 2014 to
2024 in aims of meeting the human resource demand in the industrial sector of
Mongolia.
As of March 2021, 479 students have been involved in Kosen
and joint bachelor’s degree programs, with 114 students in postgraduate
programs. Over 90 percent of the students involved in the project have had jobs,
while the rest are continuing their studies in postgraduate programs.
