Mongolian PM becomes the first person in the country to be vaccinated against COVID-19

Oyun-Erdene got the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine—‘AstraZeneca’ at the 2nd Central
Hospital today, launching the start of the nation’s vaccination program that
will enable the country to return to normal life.
Mongolia has readied cold-chain facilities and other
required infrastructure to receive vaccines ‘Sputnik-V’, ‘Sinopharm’, ‘AstraZeneca’,
and ‘Pfizer’. Within this frame, yesterday Mongolia received 150,000 doses of
Made in India, Covishield Astra Zeneca Vaccine, granted by the Government of
India, and 300,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine developed by China National
Pharmaceutical Group Corp, known as Sinopharm.
As Mongolia has launched its vaccination against COVID-19 today, about 2 million Mongolians are expected to be inoculated by July. From today, a phased rollout has begun among frontline workers.
