Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The State Emergency Commission convened yesterday, February 20, and made a decision to ease current lockdown measures and resume normal operations of 95 percent of businesses in Ulaanbaatar city from February 23, Tuesday.

However, the State Emergency Commission reported that traffic movement out of Ulaanbaatar city, the area with the highest COVID-19 infection rate in Mongolia, is planned to reopen on March 01.

“The ongoing One Door – One testing surveillance community COVID-19 testing will complete on February 23 and locations of cluster infections will be determined. Considering this, the passenger movement out of Ulaanbaatar city will remain suspended until the testing campaign ends and current work load of PCR laboratories is reduced to allow for quicker PCR diagnosis for passengers bound for rural regions.” reports the cabinet secretariat.
