MNT 2.2 billion raise through fundraising tele concert for Children’s Fund

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On December 30, an all-star concert was broadcast live on TV to raise funds for the Children’s Fund. Initially established in 1973, the fund is officially being re-established by the Ministry of Culture after over 30 years. 


In his opening remarks, Minister of Culture S.Chuluun announced that all of the staff, artists and performers working at state-owned culture and arts institutions are donating a total of over MNT 150 million, which is their one-day salary. He also highlighted that the fund’s first big project will be construction of the new building for the Puppet Theater of Mongolia. 


During the fundraising concert, Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar D.Sumiyabazar presented a certificate to Minister S.Chuluun, which stated that the matter regarding the 11,000 sq.m land to build the Children’s Central Library and Puppet Theater complex in Chingeltei district of the capital city has been resolved. 

 

The tele concert raised a total of over MNT 2.2 billion for the Children’s Fund. Alongside the construction of the complex, plans are also set in place for strengthening the operations of educational institutions for children and organizing advocacy work.
