COVID-19: 32 new cases detected, total stands at 993

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. At the regular press briefing of the Ministry of Health today on December 21, it was reported that 32 new cases were detected in Mongolia after testing 12711 people nationwide within the past 24 hours.


Of the new cases, 31 were from the hospital-related outbreak in the Bayanzurkh district of Ulaanbaatar city. One case was detected in a citizen who arrived on a Frankfurt – Ulaanbaatar charter flight. The confirmed cases in Bayanzurkh district hospital have increased to 62 and experts warn that the cluster may widen further. 

Today, the total number of confirmed cases nationwide has reached 993, with 509 recoveries.
