Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Officials led by Minister of Health T.Munkhsaikhan worked at the National Trauma and Orthopedic Research Center (NTORC), visiting the center’s new intensive care unit.

NTORC Director General E.Galbadrakh said, “Six physicians, 22 nurses, and eight physician assistants work at the intensive care unit. The neuro, postoperative, and neonatal intensive care sections have a total of 12 beds. The NTORC intensive care unit provides neuro and cardiovascular intensive care services in concert.” The unit has introduced single-bed intensive care rooms in compliance with a European standard for the first time in the country, creating an opportunity for the physicians and nurses to work with their patients more closely.

Each intensive care room is equipped with an automatic bed, vital signs monitor, electronic syringe pump, artificial respiration apparatus, and a camera. Incidentally, preparations are underway to start providing trauma care at the first and second central hospitals, General Hospital for State Special Servants, and the Bayalgol District Health Care Center.
