ITTLLDC, Ethiopian Freight Forwarder and Shipping Agents Association sign MoU

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries (ITTLLDC), intergovernmental organization headquartered in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ethiopian Freight Forwarders and Shipping Agents Association (EFFSAA) on September 29, 2020.


The EFFSAA, established in 1998, is one of Ethiopia’s leading national associations of professional logisticians with a mission to promote professionalism and excellence of logistics industry through continuous learning and professional development.


The two sides agreed to collaborate in areas of mutual interest such as research and academic collaborations; exchange of information; assistance on networking with other relevant organizations; and organization of joint seminars, conferences, workshops and training.


The MoU signed with the EFFSAA is noteworthy as Ethiopia is the most populous landlocked country in the world in addition to being the second most populous nation on the African continent. The ITTLLDC sees the partnership as a possible gateway to enhance cooperation with other African LLDCs.


The ITT for LLDCs was officially launched in 2009 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and has been serving a recognized need for landlocked developing countries, using top-quality research and advocacy to improve the ability of landlocked developing countries to build capacity with a view to benefiting from the international trade including WTO negotiations, with the ultimate aim of raising human development and reducing poverty.
