Prime Minister works at Construction Polytechnic College and Labor, Social Protection Ministry

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On October 5, Prime Minister of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh worked at the  Construction Polytechnic College and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, presenting the government targets and measures underway in the sector and gave orders to corresponding officials. 


1,583 students are attending the primary education classes of the Construction Polytechnic College while 398 students are currently studying at its technical education classes and 157 students at the specialization courses. The students enjoy the opportunities of paid internships through their studies and over 70 percent of the college’s graduates are reported to be employed in their specializations, according to the Construction Polytechnic College’s Director G.Nyamdulam. 


Within the government’s goal of specialized employee training, the Polytechnic College and the Vocational Training centers offer free courses with a monthly stipend of MNT 200,000. 


The Prime Minister also worked at the Labor and Social Protection Ministry’s coffee shop operated by visually impaired people, kindergarten, and a project for promoting community participation of people with disabilities and services, and call center to provide advices and information on social insurance services. 


During the working trip, it has been reported that centers for people with disabilities will open at various locations, including, Arkhangai, Darkhan-Uul, Dornod, Dundgobi, Khovd and Khuvsgul aimags in 2021 and the construction of employment service and development center and specially-equipped sports complex in Ulaanbaatar is on the plan.


Minister of Labor and Social Protection A.Ariunzaya introduced the works being carried out by the Ministry for the sector’s reform, including reform of social insurance system, introduction of dynamic model of employment, transition from welfare to employment, transition from student-based policy to school-based policy, comprehensive policy of support and protection for social groups, promoting equal opportunities of development for people with disabilities and becoming an e-ministry. As part of the last goal, the Ministry has introduced www.ehalamj.mn and www.ndaatgal.mn digital social insurance and welfare service, www.etuslamj.mn electronic system for other  types of social services,  www.mergejil.mn digital platform for vocational education, and TTS software for visually impaired people. 


At the end of his visit, Prime Minister U Khurelsukh ordered the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection to pay special attention on following areas as 138,000 new job places are expected to be created in the next four years thanks to ongoing and future development works in the transportation, construction, urban development, mining, tourism, food, agriculture, light industry, and intensive farming sectors. 


- To carry out employment policy and regulations on the basis of reasonable scientific studies 

- To avoid social welfare dependency, 

- To develop vocational training centers and polytechnic colleges further 

- To support employment of senior people

- To improve accessibility of health and social welfare services 

- To improve safe environment for children and increase expenses for child protection measures and 

- To introduce good practices for providing necessary services to people with disabilities.
