Ambassador to Russia works in Saint Petersburg

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Russian Federation D.Davaa on August 27-28
paid a working visit to Saint Petersburg.
During his visit, the Ambassador held a meeting with V.N.Nikitin, First
Deputy Head of Department 308, Gazprom PJSC, to talk about speeding up study
of the project on construction of a pipeline between Russia and China passing through
the territory of Mongolia, which is being carried out as part of the Memorandum
of Understanding signed between the Government of Mongolia and Gazprom in
Sochi, Russia, on December 5, 2019, during an official visit of the Mongolian
Prime Minister and making necessary arrangements.

Management Committee A.B.Miller signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the
establishment of a joint Mongolian-Russian special purpose company to carry out
a feasibility study into building a pipeline from Russia to China through
Mongolia during a virtual meeting on August 25. In connection with this, Ambassador
D.Davaa conversed with the Russian side about the company establishment process and how
the Mongolian Embassy could support the bilateral working group.
On August 28, Ambassador D.Davaa visited Portovaya Compressor Station in Vyborg, Russia, getting acquainted with its technical
operation. The compressor station plays an important role in delivering Russian
gas supplied to the European market some 1,200 km along the bottom of the
Baltic Sea through the Nord Stream pipeline.
The Mongolian Ambassador also visited the Military Logistics
Academy of Russia marking its 120th anniversary this year, extending
anniversary congratulations on behalf of the Mongolian alumni of the school and
discussing cooperation possibilities with its authorities.
