Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. As the 2020-2021 academic year will be kicking off in two weeks, the Ministry of Education and Science is ensuring the preparedness of school operations and accelerating the construction work of schools and kindergartens that are underway.
Thus, working groups assigned by the ministry are working to have 20 schools and 34 kindergartens to be newly commissioned nationwide prior to September 1. On August 14, Deputy Minister of Education and Science G.Ganbayar became acquainted with the construction work of the schools being built in Songinokhairkhan and Chingeltei districts of Ulaanbaatar to resolve some pressing issues.
With non-refundable aid from the People's Republic of China, there are two schools under construction in Songinokhairkhan district. As the schools have a total capacity of 1560 students, the district is expected to have an increased accessibility of educational services and alleviate the load of nearby schools.
The officials also became acquainted with the construction work for the school with a capacity of 640 students in Chingeltei district, which is being financed by non-refundable aid through JICA. As one of the four schools being built in the capital city with assistance from Japan, the school is planned to be a model school that is accessible for all children, equipped with environmentally friendly international standards.
