Public schools with Cambridge program to be increased

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Minister of Education and Sciences L.Tsedevsuren today received Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Mongolia Philip Malone. They exchanged views on bilateral cooperation in the educational sector.


Chevening Scholarships, funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, will involve seven Mongolian students this year. The sides exchanged views on the possibility of increasing the number of students depending on the financial conditions. They also discussed realizing the talk on increasing the number of public schools with the Cambridge program in Mongolia, made during the World Education Forum held in January this year.


Preparations are underway to establish schools with international programs in rural areas, and as of today, five aimags have been selected. The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Ministry for its partnering with Cambridge Assessment International Education to realize this work.


During the meeting, the Ambassador handed over a letter from the UK Secretary of State for Education to Ms. Tsedevsuren.


The letter states that the UK is available to conduct either classroom or online learning activities and is open to receive students.
