Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Since his appointment to the position, Minister of Foreign Affairs N.Enkhtaivan has held meetings with Ambassadors of 11 countries in Mongolia, discussing the implementation of some mega projects, said E.Sarantogos, Director of the Department of the Asia and the Pacific of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia (MFA) during the “Information Hour” press conference organized by the MFA on July 24.

In particular, some major projects are underway in Mongolia, such as the construction of an oil refinery with the soft loan from the Indian Government as well as a new airport financed by the soft loan from the Japanese Government.

Although face-to-face talks are currently not possible between the representatives of the aforementioned countries due to the pandemic, it has been agreed with the Ambassadors of the countries to overcome difficulties together to not to slow down the progress of the projects.

Mongolia also concurred with its partner countries in Asia that the COVID-19 pandemic has led the long-standing bilateral trade and economic cooperation to stagnation and it is necessary to take step-by-step measures to revive the economic partnership, reported the MFA during the “Information Hour”.

Furthermore, during his meeting with the Ambassadors, Minister N.Enkhtaivan noted that the Government of Mongolia is prioritizing export promotion policy and put forth a request to foreign Ambassadors to implement projects targeted to build joint factories with a view to promote exports and job creation, Ms. E.Sarantogos underlined in her presentation.

The Foreign Minister’s meeting with Ambassadors will continue this week as well.
