New parliament’s first session closes

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On July 9, Thursday, the new State Great Khural – the parliament of Mongolia formed by the 2020 parliamentary election closed its first plenary session, after confirming Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the parliament and composition and members of the cabinet and finalizing the appointment of new members of the parliamentary standing committees. 


At yesterday’s session, the parliament discussed a parliamentary resolution on choosing new chairs of the parliamentary standing committees in compliance with the revised law on State Great Khural, which regulates the new parliament to have 11 standing committees. Following chairs of the standing committees, consisting of members of the Parliament, were selected.


1. Chair of the Standing Committee on Security and Foreign Policy – MP B.Battumur 

2. Chair of the Standing Committee on Environment, Food and Agriculture – MP Kh.Bolorchuluun 

3. Chair of the Standing Committee on Education, Culture, Science and Sports – MP J.Munkhbat

4. Chair of the Standing Committee on Ethics and Discipline – MP B.Bat-Erdene

5. Chair of the Standing Committee on Innovation and Online Policy – MP N.Uchral

6. Chair of the Standing Committee on Social Policy – MP M.Oyunchimeg

7. Chair of the Standing Committee on State Structure – MP L.Enkh-Amgalan

8. Chair of the Standing Committee on Budget – MP B.Javkhlan 

9. Chair of the Standing Committee on Industrial Policy – MP B.Choijilsuren

10. Chair of the Standing Committee on Justice – MP S.Byambatsogt 

11. Chair of the Standing Committee on Economy – MP J.Ganbaatar 


Yesterday's plenary session also approved the dismissal of the Chairwoman of the National Statistics Office of Mongolia A.Ariunzaya, who has been leading the organization since 2016, as she was nominated and approved for the Cabinet Minister and Minister of Labor and Social Protection this week.
