Foreign Minister meets Ambassador of Canada

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Foreign Affairs
D.Tsogtbaatar on May 12 met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
of Canada to Mongolia Catherine Ivkoff to discuss relations and cooperation
between Mongolia and Canada and other issues including the current Covid-19 situation.
Ambassador Catherine Ivkoff noted that the Government of
Mongolia has been successfully keeping Covid-19 from spreading and that Mongolia has
become one of the few countries preventing Covid-19 spread. The Ambassador
then inquired about the actions planned for the future.
Minister D.Tsogtbaatar gave information on the actions the Mongolian Government is taking to prevent infections and protect public health,
underlining that the Government is focusing on reviving the economy and keeping
foreign trade smoothly flowing.
The sides emphasized that Mongolia and Canada have always
been providing mutual support and closely cooperating as two countries with
shared values.
Incidentally, Canada has committed USD 850 million to the global fight against Covid-19.
