Electric buses to be tested until March 2

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ To reduce air pollution in the capital city, ‘Passenger Transport Service’ public owned company is testing eight electric buses that were produced with German-American joint technology. The bus has 36 passenger seats and its length is 12 meter.


“Two designated points to charge the electric buses have been built. We are making study to add locations to charge the electric buses and the producer company has given eight years of guarantee to the electric bus and 30 years of guarantee to its battery or charger,” said G.Tumurbaatar, Director of ‘Passenger Transport Service’ public owned company.


He added that the electric buses will be tested until March 2. Engineering and technical workers informed that the buses are satisfying the test. The bus has capacity to travel in 50+ 50 degrees Celsius and it is fully charged within 15-20 minutes.


The use of electric buses in public transportation service of the city will decrease emission of greenhouse gas, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, sulfuric gas and dust and improve air quality in the city.
