Mongolian delegation attends UNESCO International Water Conference

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Environment and Tourism N.Tserenbat, Director of Khan-Uul complex school of Dornod aimag, one of UNESCO associated schools, G.Budtuya and 11th grader of the school A.Azbayar attended UNESCO International Water Conference that took place on May 13-14 in Paris, France.


During the conference, Ministers in charge of water issues from over 40 countries and other delegates delivered presentations about their actions in directions of water management, sustainable development and inter-sectorial cooperation and information transparency and exchange.


While attending the consultations themed ‘Water Education for Sustainable Development’ and ‘Data for water decision making’, Minister N.Tserenbat introduced the Ministry’s ‘Green Passport’ campaign and the law on water pollution fee.


Furthermore, Director of Khan-Uul complex school G.Budtuya and 11th grader of the school A.Azbayar presented their ‘Children of one river’ project for protecting Onon, Kherlen, Ulz and Khalkh Rivers.


The conference aims to take comprehensive actions for tackling water and sustainable development issues at national, local and international levels as well as improving international cooperation.
