Rhythmic Gymnastics Asian Cup selects victors

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The First Rhythmic Gymnastic Asian Cup, which took place in Ulaanbaatar on October 25-28, has selected its victors.

Organized by the Mongolian Gymnastics Federation (MGF) with the support of the Mongolian Government and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports (MECSS), the tournament was the first to be organized on the continental level, ever since gymnastics was first developed in Mongolia in 1971. It was attended by over 100 gymnasts, judges, coaches and officials from 11 countries, such as India, Kazakhstan, South Korea and Thailand.


Head of the Physical Culture and Sports Policy Department E.Munkhbileg and President of the MGF B.Lkhagvajav attended the opening ceremony and wished the gymnasts success. President of the Asian Gymnastic Union’s Technical Committee Gyozal Filippova worked as the Chief Judge.


The Mongolian team received 2 silver medals as a team at the two ropes and three balls routine as well as the silver medal for the ‘Solo team’ award, which is the featured award of the tournament. They were also able to grab 5 bronze medals, making history in Mongolian gymnastics, as the medals were the first from a continental tournament.
