Mongolian memory athletes make triumph at Jiuduan World Cup

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ A Mongolian team of memory sport successfully participated in ‘Jiuduan World Cup-2018’, held on August 9-12 in Beijing, China.

200 selected memory athletes from countries including Mongolia, China, Germany, Australia and Italy competed in non-standard six categories for three days. As a result, Mongolian team won the first place, grabbing 19 medals out of total 36 and two cups out of three.  

In the teen event, Mongolian memory athletes won all three places, topped with international grand master E.Lkhagvadulam. In the adult competition, international grand master N.Munkhshur won the first place, with score  of 8191. 

By the sum of scores, Mongolia’s athlete N.Munkhshur won the first place, followed by Simon Reinhard and E.Lkhagvadulam.  In speed-card competition, B. Shijir-Erdene set the World Record by memorizing 52 cards within 14 seconds without mistakes.
 
Mongolia’s team, coached by Asian champion U. Sengesamdan, consisted of world champion and Guinness record owner N. Munkhshur, Guinness record owner N. Enkhshur, world teen champion E. Lkhagvadulam, gold medal winner of Intellectual Olympiad B. Shijir-Erdene as well as others.
 
So far, memory athletes of Mongolian Intellectual Academy have won 789 medals from 49 international competitions since 2008.
