Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On June 20, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Lichtenstein L.Purevsuren paid a call on the Hereditary Prince of the Principality of Liechtenstein and presented his diplomatic credentials. At the ceremony, the Hereditary Prince Alois received Ambassador L.Purevsuren and they talked about bilateral relations and cooperation.

During the meeting, Ambassador L.Purevsuren expressed Mongolia's interest to deepen and develop bilateral cooperation in all potential fields such as banking, finance, culture and agriculture, and strengthen collaboration between the private sectors of the two countries. He also emphasized hope that Liechtenstein, a member of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), will make contribution to deepen cooperation between Mongolia and the EFTA. The Prince expressed its readiness to cooperate with Mongolia in the proposed fields.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Education and Culture of Liechtenstein Aurelia Frick welcomed the Ambassador in connection with the presentation of his credentials. At the meeting, Ambassador introduced current political, economic and social state and foreign policy of Mongolia, and exchanged views on seeking opportunities to develop bilateral relations in the fields of banking, finance, agriculture and culture.

Mongolia established diplomatic relations with the Principality of Liechtenstein in March 1998. The Liechtenstein has highly developed sectors of industry and finance and leads the world in GDP per capita despite its limited natural resources. The country is landlocked, therefore, in order to access to foreign markets, it has created Customs Union with Switzerland in 1924 and respectively joined the EFTA in 1991 and the European Economic Area (EEA) in 1995.
