Prime Minister meets JICA Vice President

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh underlined the significance of Japanese assistance within the Extended Fund Facility program of the International Monetary Fund.

On December 6, the Prime Minister received Kazuhiko Koshikawa, Executive Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), who is paying a working visit to Mongolia.

The Ministry of Finance and the JICA signed a JPY 32 billion loan agreement on December 5. Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh expressed his gratitude towards the financial assistance.

Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh also highlighted the significance of the JICA’s support in education, infrastructure, agriculture, trade and investment areas.

Mr. Koshikawa expressed confidence that Agreement will be ratified by the Mongolian Parliament without delay.

The sides exchanged views on other matters such as the commencement of operations of the new Ulaanbaatar International Airport on time, development of SMEs and broadening bilateral cooperation in environmental preservation.
