Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia’s delegation headed by S. Batbold, Governor of Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, participated in the 3rd meeting of OECD Champion Mayor for Inclusive Growth, in Seoul, the Republic of Korea.

The meeting, organized on October 19-20 by OECD, C40 Cities Climate Leadership and Seoul Metropolitan Government, brought together 50 mayors. The event was followed by the Mayors’ Forum on Climate Change, at which S.Batbold delivered a speech.

He said, “In the Paris Climate Agreement, Mongolia states to reduce its greenhouse gas by 14 per cent by 2030. Ulaanbaatar city makes the greatest greenhouse gas emission in Mongolia; therefore it encountered a need to have an independent plan of policy and actions on the matter. In this regard, we have established a working group responsible for working out a plan on reduction of climate change and adaptations. The document consists of three parts; reducing negative impact of climate changes, adaptation and investment plans. Also the Ulaanbaatar city will cooperate with world cities to reduce greenhouse gas.”
