Money supply reaches MNT12.2 trillion

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ According to the Central Bank of Mongolia, the money supply has reached MNT12.2 trillion at the end of March 2017, showing a decrease by MNT79.5 billion or 0.6 per cent from the previous month and an increase by MNT2 065.3 billion or 20.4 per cent compared with the same period of 2016. At the end of March 2017, the national currency in circulation reached MNT 788.3 billion, down by MNT156.5 billion or 16.6 per cent from the previous month and up by 129.7 billion or 19.7 per cent compared to the same period of 2016.The amount of outstanding loan amounted to MNT12.7 trillion in the reference period. This is a growth by 0.8 per cent from the previous month and by 7.1 per cent from the same period of 2016.
The non-performing loans at the level of the bank system reachedMNT 1 035.5 billion, down by MNT34.6 billion or 3.2 per cent from the previous month, up by MNT 67.6 billion or 7.0 per cent from the same period of 2016.
In the first quarter 2017, 30.5 million pieces of securities worth of MNT224.3 billion were traded on the National stock market, down by MNT23.7 billion or 0.9 per cent from the previous quarter and up by MNT157.0 billion which is 3.3 times more from the same period of the previous year. The traded share number fell by 12.0 million or 28.2 per cent from the previous quarter and 5.6 million pieces or 15.6 per cent compared with the same period of the previous year. In March 2017, the Top 20 index of the financial market was 12679.1, increased by 556.9 units from previous month and 1487.9 units from the same period of 2016.
