Mayors applaud Ulaanbaatar-Busan direct flights for boosting ties
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mayor of S.Korea’s Busan city, Mr Suh Byung-soo and his accompanying delegation is paying a working visit to Ulaanbaatar. The delegation was welcomed August 3 by the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, Mr S.Batbold. During the meeting, the sides inked an Agreement on Promoting Frienship.
“Although, we signed the official agreement only today, the cities have long-standing ties”, noted Mr Suh. Mongolian Consulate has opened and started operations in Busan in January of 2016. “With the launch of direct flights between Ulaanbaatar and Busan, Mongolia’s relations with Busan and the southern region of S.Korea are being upgraded, and it also enables flourishing of ties in tourism, healthcare, business and education.
“Korean people are the close friends of Mongolians. Busan is the second largest industrial city of South Korea and is a major logistics center. The related agencies from both sides are making efforts in studying the further cooperation opportunities, given the condition that Mongolia is a landlocked country”, said UB Mayor S.Batbold.
The latter came forward with a request to the S.Korean side on intensifying the exchange of specialists, boosting cooperation in urban development, landscaping and economy, and launch joint training.
He emphasized, mentioning that Ulaanbaatar-Busan direct flights were launched on June 24 with a twice-a-week schedule, that they will become more frequent.
