Mongolians to take part in 6th Children of Asia International Sports Games

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ About 200 young athletes and their coaches will participate in the 6th Children of Asia International Sports Games to be held in July 5-17 Yakutsk, Russian Sakha Republic.

The upcoming Children’s Games of Asia (CGA) will be attended by 4,500 athletes, coaches and officials from 39 countries to compete in 22 sport events under auspices of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Olympic Council of Asia. Mongolia will partake in 19 events--basketball, boxing, volleyball, artistic gymnastics, judo, kurash, track and field athletics, mas wrestling, table tennis, swimming, shooting, archery, taekwondo, football, khapsagai, chess, draughts and yakut jumps.

The national team of Mongolia for the CGA 2016 were selected from winners of the 5th Mongolian Children’s Games, national championships and other big competitions.

In the previous CGA in 2012, Mongolian team took 3rd place, grabbing nine gold, nine silver and 24 bronze medals.
