President Ts.Elbegdorj opens first session of new Parliament
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ President Ts.Elbegdorj opened the first session of the State Great Khural, formed as a result of the 7th democratic parliamentary elections of Mongolia, at 11 am, July 5. He confirmed his official receipt of names of 76 members of parliament.
The President highlighted the voter turnout was the highest we’ve seen since the 1992 elections. He applauded the media for direct broadcasting of election processes.
He instructed the MPs to discuss the bill on accountability, to set up a professional cabinet, and maintain the continuity of Mongolian state’s open and consistent policies.
The MPs are taking oaths at the moment.
