New ambassador of India presents credentials
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Newly accredited Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Mongolia Mr Suresh Babu presented the letter of credence to the President of Mongolia Mr Ts.Elbegdorj on June 17. After the presenting of credentials, the President received Mr Babu in a meeting room.
President Ts.Elbegdorj expressed satisfaction with the successful development of the friendly ties between our two countries, who have ancient cultural, art and historic bonds, and the shared democratic values and position on the global peace.
He also applauded the recent achievements in bilateral high visits and in defense cooperation. The President underlined that the exchange of experts between the Ministries of Defense and frequency of joint peacekeeping exercises and training have been increasing in the recent years.
The opening of the 1 billion USD credit line from India to Mongolia, backed by an intergovernmental agreement, is a proof of broadening cooperation of the two countries, noted the President and added that this represents Indian government’s aspiration to support Mongolia’s economy and the friendship of the two nations.
In response, Ambassador Babu welcomed the remarkably upgraded relations of the two countries, and pledged to make his own contribution to consolidating bilateral relations.
President Ts.Elbegdorj congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and the ever-growing prestige of India on the international arena. He hoped that India would send high-rank representatives to the ASEM Summit, expected in Ulaanbaatar this July.
He also wished the Ambassador great success in his further works and health.
Mr Babu had been working as the Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia between 2012 and 2016.
