Mongolia-Russia diplomatic anniversary marked in Irkutsk
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the occasion of the 95th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Russia, the two sides have been working to host many economic, educational and cultural ties. “Beautiful Mongolia” photographic exhibition opened in Irkutsk on March 18.
Representatives from the General Consulate of Mongolia in Irkutsk, Academy of Sciences, Confederation of Mongolian Photographers, representative office of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Irkutsk, General Consulates of the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of China and Eastern Siberia Railways, as well as the honored citizens and people with affections for Mongolia in Irkutsk, and some Mongolian nationals, who work and study in this city.
Also, the General Consulate and Academy of Sciences of Mongolian in cooperation with Baikal State University organized a scientific conference at the university on March 19. More than 20 scholars of Mongolian studies from Russian cities presented their researches.
Present were, head of the Parliament Standing committee on Budget Ch.Ulaan MP, a deputy president of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences T.Dorj, academician B.Boldbaatar, and a scholar from the International Relations Institute of the Academy O.Batsaikhan.
At the scientific conference opening, Sergey Levchenko, the governor of Irkutskaya Oblast, attended as an honorary guest and gave an address.
Mongolian students in Irkutsk gave art performance at the conference.
