President meets “Sound Management and Natural Resources” reps
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A workshop themed “Sound Management and Natural Resources” was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs March 16-17. The President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj welcomed all the participants.
At the meeting present were the Minister of Petroleum of Timor-Leste Mr Alfredo Manuel da Cruz Valerio Pires; a Director of State Agency for Geology and Mineral Resources of Kyrgyzstan Mr Zilaliev; Mr.Reksten Claes and Mr.Steensnaes Einar from the Oslo Center, and others.
Mr Elbegdorj appreciated the representatives for organizing the workshop in a democratic and open country like Mongolia--where the corruption index has been continually decreasing and which has vast mineral resources and an aspiration for fair exploitation.
He highlighted that Mongolia is looking forward to drawing foreign investments, aiming to create more favorable legal environment for foreign investment, and paying close attention to strengthening of the rule of law.
