External trade turnover declines in February

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In February of this year, total external trade turnover of Mongolia reached USD 965.4 million after a performance of trades with 105 countries, of which USD 613.3 million was made up by exports and USD 352.1 million by imports.

Total external trade turnover decreased USD 250.2 million or 20.6 percent. Exports decreased by USD 139.9 million or 18.6%, while the imports--by USD 110.2 million or 23.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.

External trade balance showed a surplus of USD 290.9 million in February of 2015, and USD 261.2 million in February 2016.

Mineral products, precious and semi-precious stones, metal products accounted for 85.8% of the total export, while mineral products, equipment, electrics, cars, vehicles and their facilities accounted for 51.9% of the total import.
