Seven wrestlers to compete for medals at Golden Grand Prix

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Freestyle wrestlers of the women’s selected team are competing in the Golden Grand Prix named after two-time Olympic champion Ivan Yarygin, which kicked off Friday in Krasnoyarsk of Russia.

An international master of sports P.Orkhon will fight for gold medal in the women’s 58kg division against Japanese Kaori Icho, three-time Olympic champion and 10-time world champion. In the preliminary rounds, she defeated Russians until the finals. In this contest, two Mongolians--a World champion S.Tserenchimed and E.Gantuya IMS--will compete for a bronze medal.

Another pair of Mongolians E.Sumiya and B.Khatantuul will fight for a bronze medal in the women’s 53kg bout. T.Tumentsetseg and J.Bayarzaya IMS will face Russian opponents for bronze medals in the women’s 69kg contest.
