President vetoes resolution on making changes to judicial system
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj sent November 26 an official note on vetoing the parliamentary resolution No. 94 to the Chairman of the State Great Khural (parliament) Z.Enkhbold.
The President considers that the changes proposed to be applied to judicial system do not have sufficient financial background and are likely to create different standards in settling similar problems.
The resolution outlines that the Supreme Court comprises the aimag and capital courts, the soum and inter-soum courts, as well as the district courts; and that courts can be formed for carrying out criminal, civil and administrative judicial proceedings.
However, the failure to reflect the increased expenditure on these proceedings, including salaries of judges and other expenses, in the State Budget for 2016 and the current economic difficulties facing Mongolia are preventing the smooth implementation of this resolution. The difficulties might also cause problems in normal operations of exercising jurisdiction, considers Ts.Elbegdorj.
