PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Consulate of Mongolia in the U.S. San Francisco in collaboration with the “Healthy Liver” program is to have Mongolian citizens residing in the USA checked for Hepatitis virus within the first quarter of 2016.
This decision has been made by D.Naranbaatar, a initiator of the national program “Healthy Liver” and president of ONOM Foundation, and by D.Davaadorj, president of Mongolian Gastroenterlogy Association and vice president of the University of Medical Science, at a meeting held in the Consulate General of Mongolia in San Francisco, according to the mfa.gov.mn.
They have also exchanged ideas on further cooperation and agreed to organize the hepatitis B and C virus testing for the Mongolians in San Francisco and in some major cities, at its Consular district together with consular services in the first quarter of the next year.
The Consulate had helped the Ministry of Health and Sports and the ONOM Foundation get the Harvoni, Sovaldi and Viread antiviral medications for treatment of hepatitis C virus at comparatively lower prices.
Mongolia is among the nations where the hepatitis virus causing cancer and cirrhosis is huge.
