“Melody of Stones” Florentine mosaic exhibition opens
Art & CultureUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Such an exhibition by Yurii Mandaganov opened Wednesday at the Mongolian Fine Arts Gallery, on the occasion of the 376th anniversary of the capital city and in a scope of cooperation between Ulaanbaatar and Russian Ulan-Ude. It will continue for ten days.
Present at the opening ceremony were a head of Mayor’s Office Yo.Gerelchuluun and a secretary of the Rusian Buryatia Government mission to Mongolia Sergey Yondonovich. During this event, the UB City bestowed “Distinguished figure of the Capital” titles upon Yurii Mandaganov, Aleksei Yerbakh and Valerii Istaev, in a recognition of their contribution to the city’s development.
The exhibition will display 27 pieces of stone art by Yurii Mandaganov, who started his art career in 1968, mostly using natural stones and black and white shades. He opened his exhibitions in 2000-2012 in Moscow and Ulan-Ude and in the USA.
