20 million newborn livestock expected this year
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry has reported that Mongolia will receive 20 million newborn livestock in 2017.
Last year, over 19 million livestock animals were born, which was the highest amount of newborn livestock Mongolia ever had. The total population of livestock in Mongolia is around 61 million and it is possible to have a less newborn animals loss if the upcoming spring is not harsh for livestock animals and herding communities. For the time being, over 100 soums of 10 aimags are facing winter disaster and had lost around 75 thousand livestock animals.
