Earth Hour to be marked

/MONTSAME/ The tenth Earth Hour, an annual event aimed at raising public awareness
of climate change as well as enhancing individuals’ participation in fight
against the issue, is to be held at the Sukhbaatar square from 8:30 PM to 9:30
PM on March 30.
The Earth
Hour will be co-organized by environmental organizations in Mongolia including the
World Wildlife Fund Mongolia Programme Office. During the event, candles will
be lit on the central square and all lights will be turned off for one hour and
a folk art concert will take place.
Some 3
billion 600 million people of 188 countries joined last year’s event. This
time, the organizers endeavor to spread information about the harmful
effects of plastic and encourage people to say no to plastic.
