Singaporean Premier pays courtesy call on Speaker of State Great Khural

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of Singapore paid a courtesy call on M.Enkhbold, Chairman of the State Great Khural, on Thursday.

Speaker M.Enkhbold noted Singapore is an active member of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) and confirmed that Mongolia has a great interest to develop enduring and mutually beneficial economic and trade ties. In this spirit, the two countries have abundant potential of cooperation and invests in the spheres of mining, energy, mining-related infrastructure, education, information technology, banking and finance.

Mentioning that the Mongolian People’s Party has come to power as a result of recent elections, having secured overwhelming majority of seats, Mr M.Enkhbold said Mongolia’s foreign policy continuity will be maintained irrespective of the changes in the power.

Mr Lee Hsien Loong concurred with the fact that the two nations have a great capacity of cooperation in various sectors. Mongolian PM and his Singaporean counterpart have discussed energy cooperation issues and the visa waiver regime for borth nationals within 30 days, which are hoped to decide very soon.

“Our delegation included business representatives, who will further study the possibilities for collaboration in businesses along with the Mongolian businesspeople”, said Mr Lee.

Mr M.Enkhbold noted that Mongolia is willing to boost ties with Singapore in the mining, as well as other sectors such as education and tourism.
