Auditor General of Mongolia Meets Leaders of Project to Strengthen Performance Audit Capacity

Ulaanbaatar, September 26, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) Development Initiative (IDI) and the Asian Development Bank are jointly implementing the “Strengthening Performance Audit Capacity” project for Mongolia’s State Audit Office.
Within this framework, Auditor General of Mongolia Magnaisuren Sandag received Deputy Director General of IDI, Archana Shirsat, and Senior Manager Marita Salgrave. At the meeting, the Auditor General Magnaisuren noted, “We have set digital transformation as a top priority in our operations. We also plan to conduct preliminary audits of major national development projects and programs to prevent risks, improve the implementation of audit recommendations, and reflect these objectives in our strategic plan.” He further underlined the importance of allocating resources effectively, strengthening staff capacity, and embedding high ethical responsibility into operations in close cooperation with IDI.
For her part, Deputy Director General Archana Shirsat emphasized that the project is the first of its kind in Mongolia in the field of performance auditing. She expressed satisfaction with its progress and outcomes and stressed the importance of not only reviewing the current stage but also ensuring the sustainability of results, enhancing stakeholder responsibility and participation, and elevating cooperation to a new level.
