10 Snow Removal and De-icing Vehicles Delivered to Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar, September 24, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Ulaanbaatar received 10 Howo V7X vehicles designed for snow removal and de-icing operations, essential for the city’s public utility services, on September 23, 2025.
In addition to sweeping snow and spreading salt and chemicals during winter, the vehicles can also be used for waste transportation during warmer seasons. Each unit can operate for 8–20 hours per shift, carry over 10 tons of salt or de-icing chemicals, and spread them across a width of 6–15 meters. The vehicles have a 400-liter fuel capacity and are equipped with Euro-5 standard engines.
These vehicles have been procured from seven domestic and foreign companies. To date, more than 170 pieces of special-purpose machinery and equipment, manufactured in 2024–2025, have been supplied under the contract. The equipment will be handed over to the nine districts of Ulaanbaatar, the Department of Geodesy, Water Construction, the City Landscaping Authority, the Water Supply and Sewerage Authority, and other relevant agencies for use in urban operations.
As of 2024, with municipal funding, Ulaanbaatar acquired 10 snow removal and pushing vehicles, 8 sweeping machines, 10 small snow plows, and 46 new pieces of equipment for vacuuming light waste such as leaves.
The Governor’s Office of the Capital City of Ulaanbaatar is carrying out phased fleet renewal in the urban and public utility sector to create a clean and comfortable environment and ensure citizens’ health and safety. This year, the city has planned to purchase 301 special-purpose vehicles and equipment for waste transport, street cleaning, and water facility operations with municipal budget funds, which is now being implemented.
