Inheritor of intangible cultural heritage D.Dulam receives honorary certificate

Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh presented an honorary certificate and monetary prize of MNT 30 million to a citizen of Ulziit soum of Uvurkhangai aimag, long song singer Dulam Dorj, who made special contribution to promote and spread intangible cultural heritage of Mongolia at national and global level.

 

In 2018, the Government adopted a regulation on granting monetary prize to inheritors who contributed to promote and spread intangible cultural heritage at national and global level.

 

During the award presenting ceremony, PM U.Khurelsukh said that traditional folk long song was inscribed in UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding in 2009. I wish you, who received honor from the people of Mongolia by inheriting this great culture, good luck on your good deed to educate younger generation, to make people enjoy with your singing of long song and to spread traditional heritage.  

 

Inheritor of intangible cultural heritage of Mongolia D.Dulam said "I will strive for passing down the long song to my children and younger generation. I am confident that children will have fond of singing traditional long song by seeing Mongolian state is honoring its heritage and culture such as this."  

 

D.Dulam was born in Ulziit soum of Uvurkhangai province in 1932 and was taught how to sing a long song by her mother from her early age. She is renowned as ‘Domon Dulmaa', people admired her singing of a long song ‘Domon’ starting the song with the head voice.
